Who's been reading? I have! And may I just comment: Footbinding - OUCH!!! I'm at the part where Lily has just read the note from Snow Flower while on the way to her new hubby's. But I'm scared to read on b/c I have a feeling the story is about to take a dark twist! How far into the book is everyone else? Thoughts???

I am about 3/4 of the way through the book. I was sucked right into the story because of the sense of mystery around what Snow Flower is hiding! Her secret didn't make as big an impact on me as the details on the footbinding and the other traditions. I want to think that there is something more duplicitous to come or maybe I'm not getting the full-impact of the secret.
